North Idaho Pride Alliance invites the greater Coeur d’Alene community to participate in their CDA4Pride Campaign. The CDA4Pride Campaign will occur throughout Pride Month (June) and be delivered through a multi-media, collaborative approach. The goal of our campaign is to raise awareness, have visible local Pride representation, and create meaningful opportunities to engage with LGBTQ people, allies, and community partners.
In April, we announced the cancellation of its 6th Annual Pride in the Park due to COVID-19 and intention to organize an alternative campaign to elevate the message of inclusion and unity safely through creative collaborations with our partners.
All month long, North Idaho Pride Alliance will use multiple mediums to deliver content locally and connect community members with allied partners and resources. Some of the activities include:
Pride Concert Video Series by local musicians (first week of June)
“Opening of the Heart” weekly podcast sharing the stories of local LGBTQ people
Virtual discussions on health & wellness and inclusive faith organizations
Community Partner Spotlight video series
A guided Yoga & Meditation class (June 20, 11 AM)
The Big Gay Trivia Night (virtual) (June 24th, 7 PM)
A Pride art exhibit at the Human Rights Education Institute (June 12)
A merchandise line with our CDA4Pride logo by local artist Dakotah Andrews
A downtown CDA scavenger hunt called "Follow Star the Unicorn”
Their full schedule of activities is available on our Facebook page in our “CDA4Pride Campaign: Celebrate Pride Month in North Idaho” events. Content will also be posted on our social media, YouTube channel, and their website under CDA4Pride Virtual Fair at www.nipridealliance.com. The CDA4Pride Campaign is sponsored by valued partners Project Filter and Heritage Health.
Our volunteer organization is putting out a call to action for supporters to celebrate Pride locally by decorating their homes and businesses or dressing up in rainbow colors. Participants can post a photo on social media with the hashtags #CDA4Pride, #livelovebeunited, and tag @nipridealliance.
North Idaho Pride Alliance would also like to raise awareness of other Pride events including remembrance of the Pulse nightclub shooting on June 12 and the 1969 Stonewall Uprising on June 28. OutSpokane will host its Virtual Pride Week from 6/8 - 6/13. PBS is airing Prideland, a docuseries exploring the lived experience of LGBTQ people in the South, available on pbs.org every Tuesday during Pride Month.
Juli Stratton, co-founder of the North Idaho Pride Alliance said, “I am so proud of the organization and the work we are doing in North Idaho to bring people together in social spaces and in freedom. Wherever we go, we want to feel a part of this community. Live. Love. Be United! That is our motto and that is what we believe.”
North Idaho Pride Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. They are an organization of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning (LGBTQ) people, allies, and community groups working together to create a unified North Idaho.
