The Pride Youth Leadership Summit encourages you to submit workshop proposal for the 2017 Pride Youth Leadership Summit in Coeur d’Alene on Saturday, November 4th. The conference theme is “Leading with Pride: Diverse Voices, Shared Commitment.”

The goal is the Pride Youth Leadership Summit,  “Leading with Pride: Diverse Voices, Shared Commitment” is to expand opportunities and advance equality for LGBTQ and ally youth by providing a conference where youth can network safely and develop their professional and leadership capabilities.

The Pride Youth Leadership Summit is sponsored by the Pride Foundation, Safe Passage and the North Idaho Pride Alliance.

The Pride Youth Leadership Summit Committee is seeking proposals that reflect the diversity of our LGBTQIA and ally communities. In particular, we are asking for proposals on the following categories:

  • Self-expression & Health and Wellness

  • Activism and Advocacy

  • Professional and Leadership Skills


Suggested workshop topics:

  • Healthy communications / relationships

  • You are not alone - Suicide Prevention

  • Effective leadership skills

  • Beyond the binary

  • Using art as expression (hands on)

  • Power, Privilege and Oppression

  • Know your rights - Be your own advocate

  • Living queer history / intergenerational discussion

  • Job readiness / Soft Skills

  • College prep / scholarships / essay writing

  • How To Replace Procrastination With Motivation

  • How To Network and Communicate Like a Pro

  • How To Unlock Limitless Confidence

Interactive Workshops are 50 minutes long and are submitted by one or more people who have an intersectional, interactive presentation or training to share related to the conference topics and themes. Workshops take many formats – from know-your-rights sessions, to leadership skills development and project planning, to media trainings, to arts or performance workshops, to organizing strategy sessions.  The more interactive the better!




  1. Download the proposal form below and save it locally.  

  2. Fill out the form and save "Last name.First Name.Workshop Title"

  3. Email completed form to by September 20th..  

  4. In the subject field of the email, please include "Youth Summit Workshop Proposal". 

  5. Describe the goals and take-aways for the session and provide contact and biographical information for all of the presenters.

  6. We favor sessions that are truly interactive and emphasize leadership skill-building and empowerment strategies.
