Increased Risk to LGBTQIA+ Community

DHS-Identified Threat to LGBTQAI+ Community

The most recent National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin dated the 30th of November highlights the inclusion of the LGBTQAI+ community as a targeted population for potential violence following the Club Q shooting. Considering the recent targeting of Pride in the Park here locally last summer, we at the North Idaho Pride Alliance want to encourage everyone to keep their eyes open for, and to report any suspicious/threatening activity or hate crimes/incidents you may encounter, no matter how minor. Please see the comments section of this post for several agencies locally we should report to, as well as others at the State and Region level. Remember, an ordinary citizen tipped off law enforcement to the U-Haul headed downtown last summer, ultimately keeping the event secure; your eyes and ears matter!

Stay safe this Holiday Season!
