GET INVOLVED!

The North Idaho Pride Alliance understands the importance of volunteers in our work. We would not be as successful without your support - together we can EXIST LOUDER!

For this reason, NIPA invests in a volunteer program with the objective of focusing on the recruitment,  development, support, and retention of our greatest advocates. We offer a mutually beneficial volunteer experience that is fun, informative, and rewarding.

The North Idaho Pride Alliance thrives on the energy and passion of its volunteers.

Why volunteer with the Pride Alliance?

  • Volunteer with the Pride Alliance if you believe in equality for all Idahoans.

  • Volunteer with the Pride Alliance if you believe in the full inclusion of LGBTQ+ in our communities for the benefit of all involved.

  • power of the media to shape and direct popular opinion about LGBTQ+ people.

  • Volunteer with the Pride Alliance if you want to support and inspire our LGBTQ+ youth to live authentically and reach their full potential.

  • Volunteer with the Pride Alliance if you want to help change hearts and minds.

Why volunteers get involved:

  • To meet like-minded people.

  • To network.

  • To make new friends.

  • To learn skills such as event planning or public relations.

  • To gain nonprofit and/or events experience.

  • To use professional skills such as public relations or fundraising.

  • To support the LGBTQ+ people, their families, and their friends.

  • To create an inclusive, richer more diverse community.

What will you do as a volunteer?

We match you with a project that fits your available time, your interests, and sometimes your experience.  No matter how much or how little time you have to give, the Pride Alliance has something for you.

ONGOING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Event Tabling & Support:

Event support volunteers are involved primarily on the day-of of an event, requiring less commitment. Event support volunteers can also be utilized to prepare for the event or support post-event activities.

Social Media Engagement:

Do you have a passion for social media communications? We are looking for additional team members who can create engaging social media posts, share posts relevant to our audience, and help respond to messages.

Additional skills wanted are graphic design, photography, Facebook/Instagram stories, and short videos. NIPA's social media platforms include Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

NIPA Blog Writing:

Original articles can be of any of these categories:

  • LGBTQ educational content (examples: health & wellness, books, advocacy & issues)

  • Resources (webinars, guides, local community resources for LGBTQ people)

  • Events (for NIPA or Inland Northwest LGBTQ partner organizations)

  • Stories (history or your own personal story)

  • Queer Art (digital, video, paintings)

  • Feel free to pitch an idea to us as well!

This volunteer position can be done remotely from the comfort of your own home or schedule using a cloud-based project management system called Airtable. This is a research-based, data entry position to help expand our current NIPA resource directory.

Speakers Bureau:

Do you have a passion for speaking to groups or sharing your story about being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, education, or advocacy? Be on our speaker’s bureau for opportunities that arise for speaking roles on panels, support groups, media, educational events and more.

Be a NIPA Community Builder:

NIPA ambassadors are open to attending partner community events or connecting with local businesses and nonprofits for opportunities. They make referrals to LGBTQ+ resources when needed. NIPA Ambassadors may also help with CDA4Pride business outreach, fundraising, sponsorships or help promote our NIPA LGBTQ+ Resource Directory.
