Job Title: Executive Director

Work type: Part-Time Staff (Opportunity to transition to Full-Time)

Location: Coeur d'Alene or Kootenai County

Hiring range: $25,000, DOE

Benefits: $2,400 per year health insurance stipend

Work Site Location: Hybrid


SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director develops and manages NIPA’s strategy, annual plan, budget, fundraising, operations, program delivery, and daily management of the organization. The Executive Director shall act as the duly authorized agent of the Board of Directors in all matters in which the Board of Directors has not formally designated some other person to act. The Board of Directors reserves the right to rescind any delegated authority. The Executive Director shall have the following duties, responsibilities, and powers:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare Executive Director report for each Board of Directors meeting.

  • Carry out all orders and resolutions of the Board of Directors.

  • Have the general charge and responsibility for the conduct of the organization’s daily business.

  • Recruit, direct and supervise all volunteers and coordinators of the organization, and help find volunteer leads to assist in organizing projects.

  • Enter into and execute contracts or other instruments in the normal course of business.

  • Provide leadership to the Board of Directors and its committees in formulating, developing, and evaluating organizational goals, strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures of the organization.

  • Supervise the organization's financial, governmental, public relations, and administrative activities.

  • Maintain true and accurate records concerning all activities of the organization.

  • Create and maintain historical knowledge electronic files.

  • Serve as the liaison between North Idaho Pride Alliance and the City/County agencies, and community organizations to continue promoting the interests and programs of the organization to the LGBTQIA+ community and the greater community of supporters.

  • Guide the volunteers/staff in the development and administration of operational procedures of the organization

  • Ensure that there is appropriate communication among the Directors.

  • Fundraise for the organization, along with the Board of Directors, to encourage supporters to donate to NIPA with the goal of securing reoccurring monthly donations.

  • Identify and engage with local, regional, and national businesses to formalize relationships where NIPA could benefit financially through a mutual partnership.

  • Develop a strategic plan for pursuing grants and submit grants to help offset the organizational budget.

  • Be an ex-officio member of all standing committees, as needed.

  • Any other duties assigned by the North Idaho Pride Alliance Board of Directors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/University (years of experience can be used in lieu of an educational degree)

  • 2 years or more experience in the Nonprofit Sector

  • Supervisory experience

  • Able to manage deadlines and tasks for the organization.

  • Able to work independently with limited daily support from the Board of Directors or Board President.

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.

  • Strong ability to write compelling statements, communications and proposals.


Disclaimer

This position is contingent on funding. The successful hire will be hired under a “probationary period”. The Board of Directors of the North Idaho Pride Alliance will review the selected candidate at 30 days, 3 months

and 6 months.
